First we need to check the speed of your connection, and what you are paying for it. You can do a speed check of your broadband on a web site called, rather oddly Broadband speed check and this will give you an upload and download speed, if it’s about right, roughly 75% of what your paying for but your computer is still slow on the Internet then odds the fault lies with the PC. If everyone in the house is having problems however then the issue could be something else. If your PC is slow in general then you may need to give it a good clean up with the steps provided on the help and security page. If its just the internet then check you don’t too many toolbars running at the top of the screen and while your there remove the ones you don’t need, you usually get asked to disable them and other parts of them so disable it all. Uninstall it via control panel, program and features. That can help a bit but there may be some other software interfering with IE but we can experiment and turn all your other software off (with the exception of anti virus/spyware) by using “msconfig” , the slow computer guide has the steps. You need to turn of everything in the startup group tab, then click the services tab, click the hide microsoft services box and un tick all the services apart for the anti virus/spyware ones. Restart the computer and try the internet again, if you get no improvement then run msconfig again and click normal startup on the first screen and everything's turned back on. It is possible that the problems is caused by the anti virus/spyware we have left on but give us a call now as there are a few options we need to discuss or send an email.
